New Managing Director for Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH

Matthias Fromm will take over the management of Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH on July 1, 2026.

At a press conference in March, the chair of WICM’s supervisory board, Mayor Christiane Hinninger, introduced the company’s new managing director, Matthias Fromm. He had emerged as the winner in a multi-stage selection process involving 55 candidates.

The organization was seeking a leader with extensive experience, strategic vision, and a willingness to work closely with partners from the business, tourism, and cultural sectors—someone who would continue to strengthen WICM and, by extension, the city of Wiesbaden in the fields of tourism and the events market.

The current managing director, Martin Michel, will work alongside Matthias Fromm for the first two months, through the end of August, to ensure a smooth transition.

What I find particularly exciting is the close connection between the city and the region. Wiesbaden and the Rheingau complement each other in a unique way—as a destination offering cultural, culinary, and scenic experiences. It is precisely this collaboration that presents a great opportunity to further raise the destination’s profile.
