At a press conference on Tuesday, March 10, the chairwoman of the WICM supervisory board, Mayor Christiane Hinninger, introduced the company's new managing director, Matthias Fromm. He was selected from 55 candidates in a multi-stage selection process.

The company was looking for a manager with extensive experience, strategic vision, and a willingness to work closely with partners from business, tourism, and culture who would continue to strengthen WICM and thus the city of Wiesbaden in the field of tourism and the events market.

Matthias Fromm is looking forward to his new role, which he will take up on July 1, 2026, and emphasizes: "I find the close connection between the city and the region particularly exciting. Wiesbaden and the Rheingau complement each other in a special way – as a cultural, culinary, and scenic experience. It is precisely this cooperation that offers a great opportunity to raise the profile of the destination even further."

The current managing director, Martin Michel, will accompany Matthias Fromm for the first two months until the end of August, ensuring a smooth transition.
