Apprentices create a special event experience
With a great deal of commitment, creativity and team spirit, the second-year event management trainees successfully planned and implemented the "Summer in the Castle" project.
With “Summer at the Castle,” our aspiring event management trainees impressively demonstrated just how practical their training can be. The event was part of a school project and gave second-year trainees the opportunity to independently apply the knowledge they had acquired—from the initial idea through planning to successful execution.
As part of the project, the trainees conceived, organized, and executed their own event. A large part of the responsibility rested in their hands. In addition to technical expertise, project management, communication, organizational skills, and teamwork were particularly in demand.
The result was impressive: “Summer at the Castle” at the Platte Hunting Lodge combined entertainment, socializing, and community in a special atmosphere. Numerous visitors enjoyed the unique atmosphere and the varied program. The positive response from guests confirmed the success of the project and the great commitment of everyone involved. Approximately 400 guests attended the event, which took place during the day on May 30, 2026.
Special thanks go to the sponsors and all supporters who made the event possible. Thanks to their funding, trust, and support, “Summer at the Castle” could be realized in this form.
For the trainees, the project was far more than just a school assignment: they were able to take on responsibility, contribute their own ideas, and create something special together. The success of “Summer at the Castle” impressively demonstrates the immense potential, motivation, and creativity inherent in nurturing the next generation of the events industry.
With the successful conclusion, everyone involved looks back with pride on what they have achieved—and takes valuable experience with them for their further training and future events.
Martin Michel, Managing Director of Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbHIt's great to see how much commitment and personal responsibility the trainees put into the planning and implementation. We particularly welcome the fact that this joint project gives young people from different companies the opportunity to gain important practical experience and apply their knowledge directly in a real event format.
