Green Globe recertification
Wiesbaden as a sustainable conference location - renewed Green Globe award
With the RMCC, the Kurhaus, and the Platte Hunting Lodge—which is also operated by WICM—Wiesbaden offers attractive event venues that view sustainability as an integral part of their identity.
These venues are already implementing a wide range of measures to integrate sustainability, including important certifications with sustainability seals of approval, such as Green Globe certification
The two event venues in the Hessian state capital—the RheinMain CongressCenter (RMCC) and the Kurhaus Wiesbaden—have once again been successfully recertified with the international Green Globe sustainability seal in 2025. This marks the third time both venues have received the award since their initial certification in December 2022—a clear sign of sustainability in action and continuous improvement.
Green Globe as a benchmark for sustainable event locations
The Green Globe certification is one of the most renowned sustainability seals in the event and MICE industry. The extensive list of criteria - consisting of 44 mandatory and around 380 additional criteria - examines environmental management, energy efficiency, resource conservation and social and economic responsibility, among other things. Only those who fulfill all mandatory criteria and also demonstrate continuous improvements can receive the certificate again.
"We are proud that we have been able to prove in both hotels that we have not only integrated sustainability in all areas but are also continuously developing it further. Organizers and agencies benefit from our measures and can thus directly meet the CSR requirements of their customers. In order to bring this closer to new customers, we have also designed a sustainable congress promotion program that promotes sustainable event management. Christiane Seelgen, authorized signatory and, among other things, responsible for sales at WICM
