About 60 residents of Wiesbaden and the surrounding area had the opportunity to learn about the various sustainability aspects at WICM, TriWiCon, and in Wiesbaden during guided tours held on two dates in September as part of Hesse Sustainability Day.

The program offered a variety of insights: During the tour of the RheinMain CongressCenter, guests learned about the sustainability considerations taken into account in the planning, operation, and use of the convention center.

The tour of the Kurpark highlighted specific measures implemented in a historic and landmark-protected setting—including our new flowering areas and flood protection measures.

The city walking tour “Wiesbaden, with Feeling” focused on selected urban development projects and examples that took ecological, social, and economic aspects into account.

The response to the tours was very positive. It was particularly gratifying that we were able to not only provide participants with insights into various measures and topics related to our own sustainability efforts, but also to showcase other developments and projects in Wiesbaden.

Hesse Sustainability Day has been held every two years since 2010 as part of the Hesse Sustainability Strategy. Throughout Hesse, citizens can easily engage with the topic of sustainability at numerous events. The idea behind it is to make sustainability—with all its many facets—visible and something that can be experienced with all the senses.
